UG DSRA Climax: College of Education Puts Spotlight on Research and Wellness

 

 

The College of Education, University of Ghana, joined the University-wide climax of the Day of Scientific Renaissance of Africa (DSRA) celebration with a vibrant display of scholarship, innovation, and community health. Under the theme “Climate Sustainability: Innovate, Safeguard, Prosper,” the College showcased its maiden DSRA Newsletter, faculty publications, and hosted a health screening exercise, drawing attention to its dynamic contributions to sustainable development and public well-being.

Led by its DSRA Planning Committee, the College’s exhibition stand featured a curated display of scholarly works from faculty across its three constituent Schools, alongside highlights from the newly launched newsletter. The materials reflected the College’s ongoing commitment to advancing climate-responsive education and knowledge dissemination.

Also on display were various faculty-led research projects addressing key areas of sustainability, education, and societal resilience. The stand became a hub of engagement, drawing students, faculty, and visiting senior high school pupils who eagerly interacted with the team and explored the College’s innovative approaches to teaching, research, and community impact.

A notable feature of the exhibition was a free health screening activity spearheaded by the Department of Physical Education and Sports Studies. Participants from the university community took advantage of this initiative, which underscored the College’s holistic view of education; one that integrates physical well-being into its broader academic and development goals.

Members of the University of Ghana community and visiting senior high school students enthusiastically visited the College’s stand. The engagement provided a unique platform for the College not only to share its academic achievements but also to inspire the next generation of scholars with a glimpse into impactful research and purposeful education.

The College’s participation in the DSRA climax event reinforced its dedication to innovation, collaboration and meaningful scholarship in the face of climate challenges. Through its displays and interactions, the College of Education demonstrated how academic institutions can play a pivotal role in promoting sustainability and social transformation across Ghana and the continent.
